Price includes all-day self-guided kayak rental, paddles, vest, and kayak shuttle service to the launch. Fishing equipment is not offered at the rental shop. Kayak drop-off is also available upon request for a service charge.

Abundant WildlifeOur top-of-the-line, sit-on-top kayaks are equipped with comfortable seats that provide great support for your paddling journey. The supremely stable design of our rentals allows you to move freely, access your cooler or other equipment, and even take a dip in the lake! Rentals can be made by reservation or walk-in. Once you’ve checked in, you and your party’s kayaks will be shuttled to a nearby drop off-ramp complete with parking and a nearby restroom. We’ll help you put-in and get situated, then all you need to do is relax and enjoy your rentals. Simply call us when you’re done to come and pick them up and you can be on your way right from the boat ramp.
Spend any amount of time with Dave Jones (DJ) and it’s clear that he is a true man of passion. Originally from Indiana, Dave moved to Florida to pursue what he calls a “working vacation”. Dave’s love of the outdoors and North Florida’s natural beauty would ultimately lead to his zeal for all things paddling but, upon moving to Melrose, Florida he quickly realized a major gap in the local market. Melrose lays claim to one of the most beautiful lakes in the state but offers no way for people to get out and experience it without their own watercraft. As such, Dave decided to open DJ’s Kayak Rentals to help others experience the beauty and serenity of Lake Santa Fe for themselves; whether they are a paddling enthusiast like himself or simply want to try something new.
